I will say that is an absurdity of modern life that we have made even working and making a living so sedentary for most people, that people pay money to physically exert themselves in gyms.

Anyway, if you don't want to give away your shekels to fitness clubs, you can just run or bike and do calisthenics. You can also lift cinder blocks or make cheap dumbbells out of cement.
