ERfuel how can i "gain" confidence if i never had it in the first place

a dude told me this a couple of years ago and I'm still caging about it

"muh dude all u need to do is gain some confidence and then bitches will love u trust me"

dude I've never even had confidence first of all, how do u even expect me to get it out of no where, I swear I wanted to kill the dude right there bc of how stupid that was
