For pokémon Red/Green/Blue I recommend PureRGB, it adds tons of QOL changes, fixes bugs, adds a few extra tilesets from the spaceworld demo, adds a few extra areas that really should have been in the OG game, lets the player obtain every Pokémon, and buffs some of the weaker Pokémon. (Plus a lot of the features and changes can be turned on/off if the user wishes).

For Pokémon Crystal I recommend Polished Crystal, it includes tons of QOL changes, a slightly improved UI, The Fairy type, Physical/Special split, fixes the level curve, improves the gym leader teams and allows the player to obtain any Pokémon without cheats. (There's a ton more changes that I didn't mention but you get the gist I hope, as usual most of the changes made can be turned off/on).

For Pokémon Emerald I recommend Emerald Cross it adds QOL changes, following Pokémon, bug fixes, all Pokémon are obtainable without cheats and different game modes.
(A lot of the changes can be turned on/off as usual)

For Pokémon Platinum I recommend PlatinumQOL it adds QOL changes, Following Pokémon, every pokémon obtainable without cheats and overall just improves the flow of Pokémon platinum
(Platinum QOL does not allow the player to change any settings but pretty much everything is an improvement so it's not an issue).

For Pokémon Black and white I recommend Complete Unova Pokédex edition adds some small QOL changes and allows the national dex pokémon to be obtained without cheats.
