Even if you hate my guts, let's work something out.
Notice: If you're going to do nothing but talk shit about the forum and call it a "shithole," or be some asshole PSL/Lookism narc, then either leave or don't even bother joining. That behavior won't be tolerated.
A more pertinent comparison would be gambling, or something that doesn't have substances/the physical element involved... They're not really the same thing regardless
@itsallaboutpersonality is "porn addiction" a thing? What do you think? (let's disregard the already hypersexual individuals that are already doing it a lot and want some more and focus only on this specific type of "compulsive sexual disorder")
Many recognize that several behaviors potentially affecting the reward circuitry in human brains lead to a loss of control and other symptoms of addiction in at least some individuals. Regarding Internet addiction, neuroscientific research supports ...

Spermidine is a ubiquitous, endogenous polyamine. In other words it's everywhere and you can easily get a ton of it in your diet. This argument is like saying sperm contains cells and we need cells to live, therefore ejaculating is bad. More importantly sperm causes prostate cancer.
The DSM 5 does not classify excessive porn consumption as a disorder or addiction. There's no social, physical etc downside to beating your meat to pixels so it doesn't really follow the addiction model, it's fairly intuitive
I can't believe I've spent the last hour looking at these retarded studies just so they can conclude with there is no conclusive evidence and made up "pornographic online porn usage" that's included in the population that's already addicted to sex and has plenty of it. Jfl
I don't feel like writing a response so I will not rebuke anything said here. I just respond because I want to state for the record that the DSM has no credibility.

The first of thethree mentions the possibility that "porn addiction" may very well be a symptom of a broader/bigger problem (the pre exi reduced dorsal striatum volume & "brain power", the part responsible for cognition and other bullshit, which would be in line with overall impulsive behavior and what I was initially thinking; if that's the case, the people riddled with this specific addiction would also likely be abusing drugs, being prone to violent outbursts, etc or just straight up having impaired thinking, motor functions). The study notes that substance use disorder was screened for but then only mentions that the group was given some alocohol & depressive questionnaire to answer. A bit weird, unless I'm reading it wrong
