So basically the school organised a meeting to congratulate and cheer for students who won some inter school competition or something.

I mean, I agree with the action not the reasoning. In those events I never cheered or clapped for students either because I didn't give a fuck about them. Those fuckers should be clapping for me; I'm not clapping for them for doing something I don't give a fuck about.
