Yeah that's like saying psychopaths can't like architecture because they like setting buildings on fire. That's some psychopaths, not all of them. Empathy for psychopaths, as for every human, is selective. Some have empathy for animals, as they do for family members, and others don't. And some may not in general but may come to like a specific animal they own or grow fond of.

Whatever. The point is that doesn't apply to all of them, and even if it does it is selective how it applies. Say, if they get enjoyment from torturing living things, does that mean they can't like someone close to them because they like torturing living beings? Even if a psychopath likes torturing animals, that doesn't necessarily apply to every animal, and again, not all psychopaths torture animals. There's many that don't, many because simply they aren't interested. Sadism can manifest in many ways and torture of animals is just one of them. But once more, a psychopath can happen to be fond of animals in general, as they can happen to be fond of a given person. Violent tendencies doesn't just mean you go around killing and torturing everything you see. That's a cartoonish Hollywoodesque understanding of psychopathy.
