I take it this is true if they're slightly interested, and good chance I'm reading into nothing. So I don't think you're wrong.

The issue seems to be that guys don't get girls from these kinds of events. They meet on apps and social circles. Part of the reason I was so apathetic at the time was because I knew nothing I could say would get me anywhere, so there's no point.

Worst part is they probably keep replaying this scenario in their heads, thinking about what they could have said or done. Then they classify themselves as nearcels (muh i was almost there bro, should have said the right words bro)
