I noticed burgerlanders have a bad tendency to lie about their heights and overestimate even though there's no reason to do it. Punjabis are suddenly 6'2 (even though they average like 5'9/5'10), Asians are 6' and up (really 5'7/5'8) etc

That 5'9 US army survey statistic for able bodied men, aged 20 to 50*, has been stable for more than two decades now. The way this is measured is BAREFOOT, back straight to the wall, looking forward, (usually) evening height (so there's no decompression shenanigans or compression, in case of heavy exercise during the day)
