The last console I owned and it took ages for me to upgrade. In fact while long term the PS2 was the best selling console of all time (150 milliion units overall) its launch was a disaster.

I vividly remember going from 16-bit to 32-bit.

But the PS2 didn't have the same magic. I was chained to a deskjob and I just saved up a few weeks slips and traded in my PS1 and games. Therefore they are one and the same.
